We travel to remote communities and provide veterinary care that would otherwise be difficult to access. Depending on the needs and desires of the community, this may include vaccinations for dogs and cats, parasite prevention (fleas, ticks, internal parasites), microchip placement, health assessments, treatment of medical problems, spay/neuter programs, and providing vaccine records and health certificates. We also offer on-going Telemedicine consults throughout the year as well as annual visits to each community. We are currently fundraising to build a mobile spay/neuter clinic or to obtain equipment to do surgeries within communities to avoid the stress to animals and people of transporting them out of a community.

We believe that education is a two-way exchange of knowledge. Listening to the knowledge of others is as important as sharing what we have learned.
When in communities, One Health Society for Animals works with community members to listen and offer to share our support. We strive to answer questions about animals, veterinary services and zoonotic diseases. Outreach plays an important role in improving both animal welfare and community health.
We believe that working with children and schools is paramount to our wholistic care approach within a community. Our outreach to schools has included two-way discussions about animal behaviour, dog bite prevention, basic pet first aid, general veterinary care and animal-related study and job opportunities. If children in communities have particular interests, we look for connections to other programs that can be attained through on-line communications with university professors or through mentoring from others in the Sea to Sky community or beyond with shared passions.

We are working to create financial support programs that will help families access veterinary care without having to relinquish their pets due to financial hardship. We are open to ideas about the best ways to provide support. If you have any input on how best to accomplish this goal, please get in touch by using the 'Contact Us' section of the home page. Thank you!
